A pair of wild elk, one male and one female, casually walking towards the forest edge. This touching scene reminds me of the end of a story where the couple lives happily ever after.
When I started taking wildlife photos, I quickly discovered that one of the biggest challenges to photographing wildlife was actually finding the animals - the photography was the easy part. I set out on a quest to find places where I was practically guaranteed to find abundant wildlife, places like the image above where I consistently walked away with hundreds of photos.
I ended up writing a reference book to help other photographers and wildlife watchers learn the best time and place to see wildlife at these destinations it's called the “Explorer’s Guide to Wildlife Adventures”. The Guide includes 15 locations in the Eastern United States and features a variety of wildlife including whales, moose, elk, seals, stallions, puffins, egrets, alligators, and a variety of other animals.
