Description
Vials of Humulin N, the insulin that diabetic patients inject to control their blood sugar.
In 2014, a vial of Humulin N sold for approximately $115 each (in Cumberland, Maryland). While each patient's dosage varies, a vial (for me), lasts almost a month. So you're looking at $920 of life saving medicine in this photograph.
The question is: if it's life saving medicine, what is it worth? It's priceless right? But then, what about the people (and their pets) that can't afford it? Do they deserve to live if they don't make a decent wage? At what point does doing the right thing trump making a profit? A big, fat profit.
